Description
Beihai Park is located in the center of Beijing,. It was first built more than 1,000 years ago during the Liao Dynasty (916-1125) , Then rebuilt and renovated continually during the Jin (1115-1234) , Yuan (1279-1368) , Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties as a part of the imperial palace, after many times renovotion in the Ming(1368-1644) And Qing(1644-1911) Dynasties, eventually becoming the beautiful landscaped garden we see today.
Beihai Park covers a total area of over 68.2hectares, ore than half of it is taken up by the lake, it consists mainly of two parts: the lake and the Jade Flowery Island (qionghuadao) .
